The Region

eXcursions

The Stallerhof is ideally located for excursions and activities in nature. Yet, also art, culture and urban lifestyle can be enjoyed nearby or in the city of Salzburg. If you tell us your preferences, we are more than happy to come up with individual recommendations on what do and where to go and offer suggestions on current event highlights! You can also find a little inspiration right here!

FOR NATURE LOVERS AND CULTURATI

The city of Mozart is situated 30km, only a short car drive, away from the Stallerhof. Thanks to good public transport connections, Salzburg can also very easily be reached by bus and train.

Our personal highlights and must-sees are the Trattberg with the Seewaldsee (a bog lake) located close by, as well as the Bluntautal in Golling with the waterfall, the Eagles Nest on the Obersalzberg with a documentation centre, the sound of music tour in the Salzkammergut, the salt mine in Hallein, the Giant Ice World in Werfen and the castle Hohenwerfen, the glacier on the Dachstein, the Kitzsteinhorn (a year-round ski area) in Kaprun and the Großglockner, to name just a few.

FOR ACTION AND RELAXATION

Well indicated hiking trails and mountain bike paths, with various levels of difficulty, start right on our doorstep. E-bikes can be rented in the village. Furthermore, you can do: rafting in the Lammer, canopying in the Lammerklamm, tandem skydiving in Werfen, and glacier sports (also in summer!) in the Ramsau or on the Kitzsteinhorn.

Those who have had enough of the action and the sporting activities, can relax at the "Aquasalza", a water park in Golling with an indoor and an outdoor pool, and a spacious sauna area.

FOR FOOD CONNOISSEURS

Depending on your taste and preference we are happy to recommend one of the many superb restaurants and the inn's with traditional local cuisine in the vicinity. If requested, it will certainly be our pleasure to make reservations at the most beautiful spots our world of culinary delight has to offer. Once you really got a taste of it, you can take part in one of the cooking or bread baking courses and learn how to make these delicacies yourself, or experience the art of cheesemaking. Homemade food simply tastes better!
